ARTIST STATEMENT
My paintings are inspired by Maine’s saltwater marshes, land and seascapes. I enjoy exploring the relationship of objects to define shapes, qualities of light, color and pattern. My process involves the use of brushes, pallet knives and sometimes scrapers to abstract. My palette is traditional, I combine warm and cool colors and pay close attention to values to create richness and interest.
I enjoy trying new techniques, styles and media including printmaking, ceramics and fiber arts. I regularly participate in live and online workshops and classes including those with Philip Frey, Patty Molica, Scott Gellatly and Liz Prescott. My art is always evolving, the exciting journey contnues.
