Mixed Media & Monotypes
The original monotypes are made by painting heavy body acrylic paint on a gelatin plate to create an image then taking an impression (print) on acid free paper.
The mixed media pieces started as monotype prints. But once printed areas on the monotype were painted with oils to adjust the values, enhance the colors, and add more depth.
Monotype prints and mixed media pieces are mounted wood panels and finished with a cold wax varnish to give a soft matte finish while protecting the work.
